Virtual API

The Virtual API is a cloud platform that allows you to access a large number of computer applications from any device with an internet connection.

Save any file you are working on to a flash drive and get on with your work at home or any University computer safely and without worrying about anything else.
 

Virtual API from Citrix client

(Recommended option for a better user experience)

1. Access https://api.ucam.edu from any browser and enter your ID number (without the letter) and Virtual Campus password.

2. To continue you will have to click on the “Detectar Receiver” (Detect Receiver) button.

3. A browser window will appear to open the Citrix Launcher application. Then click on “Ya instalado” (Already installed).

4. Once inside, select the application you want to use.

5. A file with .ica extension will be downloaded and you will have to run it for the application to open.

6. For the application to be able to read and save the files on your local computer, you will have to select “Permitir el uso” (Allow use) in the message. If you do not want the message to appear again, check the box.

1. Access https://api.ucam.edu/vpn/index.html from any browser and enter your ID number (without the letter) and Virtual Campus password.

2. To continue you will have to click on the “Detectar Receiver” (Detect Receiver) button.

3. If you don’t have the Citrix client installed, you will see the following download option. Check the box and click on the “Descargar” (Download) button.

4. Run the installer that you have just downloaded.

5. Follow the steps in the installer as indicated in the following images.

6. Once the Citrix Receiver client is installed, click on the “Continuar” (Continue) button.

7. A browser window will appear to open the Citrix Launcher application. Then click on “Ya instalado” (Already installed).

8. Once inside, select the application you want to use.

9. A file with .ica extension will be downloaded and you will have to run it for the application to open.

10. For the application to be able to read and save the files on your local computer, you will have to select “Permitir el uso” (Allow use) in the message. If you do not want the message to appear again, check the box.

Virtual API from web browser

1.  Access https://apiweb.ucam.edu from any browser and enter your ID number (without the letter) and Virtual Campus password.

2. Once inside, select the application you want to use and it will open in a new browser tab 

*Be especially careful if you close the browser, as it will also close the application and the data will not be saved.

3. The following icon will appear at the top of the browser window. When you click on it, the following functions will appear.

Here are some of the most important ones:

  •   Download application files to our local computer.
  •  Upload files from our local computer to the application.
  •  Copy the local clipboard to the application clipboard.
  •   Log off and exit the application
