UCAM participates in the Olympic Sports Day in the Retiro Park, in the midst of promoting its new campus in Torrejón de Ardoz

Ten Olympians showed their commitment to sport at UCAM and its imminent introduction in the city. During the day, a sponsorship agreement was signed with Club Voleibol Torrejón, which will now be called UCAM Torrejón Voleibol.

On the opening day of the event, held at IFEMA, hundreds of young people visited the stand of the Universidad Católica de Murcia to find out more about its comprehensive academic model and to participate in workshops and interactive activities

At the Spanish Olympic Committee Gala, attended by the presidents of the Spanish Olympic Committee, the Spanish Government and the UCAM, athletes who shone in Paris were recognised.

Outstanding athletes included walker María Pérez, canoeist Saúl Craviotto, cyclist Sergio Garrote, coaches Sito Alonso and José Antonio Carrillo and the UCAM Murcia Football Club in an event that reinforced the commitment of the UCAM-Spanish Olympic Committee alliance.

María Pérez (athletics), Bea Ortiz and Nona Pérez (water polo), Íñigo Llopis (swimming) and Sergio Garrote (cycling) are the UCAM athletes who have won gold medals at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Eight medallists and twenty-two diplomas from the Spanish team feature a hint of UCAM at these Olympic Games.

The canoeist will share this honour with sailor Támara Echegoyen. In Tokyo 2020, every flag bearer for Spain was a UCAM athlete: Mireia Belmonte and Saúl Craviotto at the opening and Sandra Sánchez at the closing.

Moisés Yuste and Lucía Aguado, students of the UCAM Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences in Cartagena and Murcia respectively, were selected by the Spanish Olympic Committee to experience this sporting event in Greece

For three days, the Plaza Circular of Murcia has become a space dedicated to Olympism with numerous activities focused on sport
