UCAM strengthens ties with China in training and research
The Murcia-based institution welcomed a delegation from Binzhou Medical University to its Murcia Campus, as they both share a high level of specialisation in the field of health.
UCAM wants to continue building partnerships with China, and to this end, it has received a visit from executives from Binzhou Medical University with the aim of establishing new agreements in the areas of training and research.
During their stay at the Murcia Campus, they visited its innovative healthcare facilities and met with members of the Bachelor's Degree in Medicine, Nursing and Veterinary Medicine. They also visited UCAM HiTech, the UCAM Research Centre for High Performance Sport and the UCAM Dental Clinic.
Pablo Blesa, UCAM Vice-Rector of International Relations and Communication, welcomed the Chinese delegation, led by Geng TIAN, Vice-President of BMU, and recalled that UCAM had recently visited the Shandong region, where it already has agreements with other universities. ‘China and Spain are strategic partners at state level, a reality that has an impact on education, particularly at university level and in research,’ he noted.
Binzhou Medical University (BMU) has more than 70 years of history, with its origins dating back to the Medical School of Shandong University. Since then, it has grown into a modern university with a strong focus on medicine and health sciences, complemented by programmes in engineering, management and education. ‘We hope to establish a collaboration with UCAM: exchanges of students and lecturers, training programmes, practical projects,’ said Geng TIAN.
