The Professional Association of Court Solicitors will provide internships for UCAM Master's Degree in Access to the Legal Profession
Its dean signed an agreement with the president of the University, which joins those already in force with the official lawyers’ associations. 98% of this degree’s students pass the official exams for these professions
The universidad Católica San Antonio has signed a cooperation agreement with the Professional Association of Court Solicitors of the Courts of Murcia, with the aim of continuing to offer an education of the highest quality and adapted to the new regulations of the educational environment. This agreement will allow students of the Master's Degree in Access to the Legal Profession of UCAM who direct their studies to the practice of this profession, to carry out their internships in the offices of this group. The agreement was signed by María Dolores García, UCAM president, and María Dolores Cantó, dean of this professional association. The event was attended by UCAM's Rector, Josefina García, and the institution's Head of Legal Services, Isabel Mendoza.
The Master's Degree in Access to the Legal Profession, the successful completion of which allows you to sit the official exam, is an essential requirement for access to the free practice of the profession of lawyer and court solicitor. The universidad Católica de Murcia has been teaching this postgraduate course, which stands out for the good results obtained by its students – as every year, on average, 98% of them pass this exam – for 22 years.
In order to be able to offer these studies, the Legal Practice Schools of Spanish universities must have agreements with professional associations of lawyers and solicitors to guarantee extracurricular internships for their students. ‘This agreement joins those we already have with different lawyers associations and guarantees internships for our students on the Master's Degree in Access to the Legal Profession, emphasises Jaime Sánchez-Vizcaíno, director of the degree and dean of the UCAM Law School.
María Dolores Cantó stated that thanks to this agreement ‘the Master's students will learn about the day-to-day activity of the court solicitor, in the judicial and local offices, and other types of actions that we carry out by virtue of the mandate we have with our clients, which will be a very important complement to their training’.
