The University participates in Queen Sofías’s visit to the Segura Food Bank
The Emeritus Queen Sofía visited the seat of the Segura Food Bank, in order to discover and support the work carried out by the institution in the distribution of food among the population who is living in a situation of poverty.
During her stay, she was welcomed, together with the civil authorities, by Antonio Alcaraz, vice-chancellor for University Extension of UCAM, an institution that carries out, together with others, a great work by providing food that is stored in there and that will be sent to charities that provide care and assistance to the poorest.
Antonio Alcaraz explained that, in his meeting with Queen Sofía, she showed her interest towards the humanitarian actions carried out by UCAM, she asked about its seat, the Los Jerónimos Monastery and the students of the university. Queen Sofía congratulated the university for the different social projects that it carries out in disadvantaged countries.
