Representatives of UCAM and the Chinese school Yinghe (Galaxy), which belongs to the Lucero educational group, met at the Los Jerónimos Campus to advance the implementation of a Spanish language programme at a newly created international school in Shandong province. During the meeting, María Dolores García, UCAM president, and Lijuan Pang, president of Yinghe College, signed the agreement that will facilitate collaboration between the two institutions.

Pablo Blesa, UCAM Vice-Rector of International Relations and Communication, stressed that with this agreement ‘we consolidate our firm commitment to the expansion of Spanish language and culture in Asia through this new educational project in China’.

The University will assume the supervision of the Spanish language teaching programme and will appoint a teacher who will coordinate a team of Chinese teachers. The ultimate goal is to enable students who complete this training to continue their university studies at UCAM.

In this regard, Lijuan Pang, president of the Chinese institution, stressed that ‘from 2028, every academic year, 50 of our students will come to Spain to study at UCAM’.

This academic impulse responds to the growing demand for Spanish-speaking professionals in China, within the framework of the strategic relations that the country maintains with Latin America and Spain. The initiative reflects UCAM's commitment to internationalisation, the strengthening of cultural links and the promotion of academic and employment opportunities for students from both continents.

UCAM, which has been working for more than a decade with Chinese institutions such as the Shandong University of Sport, currently has more than a hundred students from China on its Murcia campus.
