On its Murcia and Cartagena campuses, UCAM has launched the UCAM EcoChallenge an initiative that gamifies sustainability with the aim of encouraging responsible habits among the members of its community. This competition, which will run for three months, will reward those who carry out sustainable actions such as walking, cycling, using public transport, carpooling, recycling and others. This is yet another initiative in line with the University's philosophy of promoting activities that encourage caring for the planet, as part of a development programme called UCAM Sostenible (Sustainable UCAM).

The EcoChallenge is coordinated through the Liight and Hoop mobile apps, which are used to keep track of the points accumulated by participants. Each sustainable action will add up to the overall ranking, where users will compete to reach the top positions and win prizes, the main one being an electric scooter.

Access to the competition requires downloading the apps, creating a profile and entering the welcome code 'UCAM25'. From then on, users will be able to register their sustainable activities and follow their progress in the ranking. This initiative seeks to actively involve students, teaching and administrative staff in their commitment to the environment.

With this proposal, UCAM reinforces its commitment to being a university that cares about the environment and to the ecological awareness of its community. The institution underlines that such actions are part of an overall sustainability strategy.
