UCAM athletes Bea Ortiz and Nona Pérez win the Olympic gold

The Spanish women's water polo team reaches the top of the podium for the first time in its history at the Olympics

The Spanish women's water polo team wins its first Olympic gold in Paris 2024 with two players from the UCAM-COE alliance: Bea Ortiz and Nona Pérez. After two silver medals (London 2012 and Tokyo 2020), Miki Oca's players managed to defeat Australia in the final by 10-12, in what is their fourth participation in the Olympic Games.
 

The contribution of the UCAM players in the final, with four goals from Bea Ortiz, a student of the Master in Communication Management, who scored a hat trick in the third quarter to lead Australia by 3-6 and another goal in the last period; and great defensive work of Nona Pérez, who was making her debut in the competition, saving the day at crucial moments of the match.

Gold medals: María Pérez (athletics - race walking relay mixed); Bea Ortiz and Nona Pérez (water polo).

Silver medal: María Pérez (athletics - race walking) 

Bronze medal: Saúl Craviotto, Marcus Cooper, Carlos Arévalo and Rodrigo Germade (canoeing - K4 500m).
