UCAM and the Murcia Chamber of Notaries agree to promote legal training
María Dolores García, UCAM president, and Carmen Rodríguez, dean of the Murcia Chamber of Notaries, have signed a collaboration agreement at the Los Jerónimos Campus with the aim of promoting teaching, training and research activities in the field of legal sciences. The activities that are to be carried out jointly include the preparation of notarial candidates, the organisation of congresses and seminars, and collaboration in research projects.
The agreement also includes initiatives aimed at bringing the notarial profession closer to the students of the UCAM Faculty of Law, which will offer its graduates the opportunity to qualify as notaries by gaining access to the Chamber's Training Academy.
In addition, the exchange of scientific publications and research material between the notaries and the UCAM teaching and research is foreseen, as well as collaboration with the UCAM Chair of Family-Owned Businesses, whose Scientific Committee will include a representative appointed by the Murcia Chamber of Notaries.
The Dean of the Chamber, Carmen Rodríguez, stressed that one of the main objectives of this agreement is ‘to raise awareness of our profession at university level, and to put aside the outdated stereotypes that sometimes exist about the practice of our profession’. Along the same lines, Jaime Sánchez Vizcaíno, Dean of the UCAM Faculty of Law, highlighted ‘the exchange of knowledge that will take place between the two institutions with the implementation of joint projects, especially through the UCAM Chair of Family-Owned Businesses’.
