UCAM and Chandigarh University Lead International Progress in Biomanufacturing
Global researchers and industry leaders analyzed key strategies for the bioeconomy and sustainable production processes during a hybrid international summit
Biotechnology experts gathered for the 2nd International Conference on Biomanufacturing, Bio-Innovation, and Environment Sustainability (ICBBES 2026), a scientific forum co-organized by Chandigarh University (India) and Universidad Católica de Murcia. During the event, which was held in a hybrid format, participants presented cutting-edge solutions designed to address current industrial challenges and environmental sustainability.
Representing the UCAM side, the conference featured a keynote presentation by Isabel Martínez Alcalá, lead researcher of the “Social Responsibility, Sustainability, and Innovation” group, who provided the institution’s technical and academic perspective on these critical fields.
Throughout the sessions, speakers analyzed the impact of synthetic biology, artificial intelligence, and biomanufacturing on the global bioeconomy, allowing researchers and academics to debate circular economy strategies and eco-friendly technologies. Furthermore, this collaboration has ensured that the most outstanding contributions from the event are selected for upcoming publication by the prestigious scientific publisher Springer.
