The activities will continue tomorrow at the Murcia Campus with the celebration of the III University Mile and the UCAMPaella, and on Thursday in Cartagena
Thousands of UCAM students came to the Plaza de las Pérgolas at the Murcia
Campus this morning to take part in the activities the institution has
programmed to mark its University Welcome, which this year coincides with
the 25th anniversary of academic activity at Los Jerónimos. The event will
take place today and tomorrow, and on Thursday in Cartagena.
The University Radio iRadio started with a special programme and a visit to
the Sound Studio. Meanwhile, the University Language School presented its
wide range of courses and held workshops in Korean and Hebrew.
A gastronomic space has been set up in which the academic community can
enjoy free tastings, such as those offered by the companies cooperating with
the Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomy.
In the sports zone, students can obtain information about the UCAM Sports
Center, the Research Centre for High Performance Sport and the Sports
Activities Service of the University. The event was attended by UCAM
Murcia CF players, who challenged the students to a free-kick competition.
In the afternoon, it was Urban Klavzar’s and Jordan Sakho’s turn, from
the UCAM Murcia CB. They played a free throw game with students. In
addition, UCAM athlete Sandra Sánchez, Olympic Karate champion, will
give a talk tomorrow and take part in the scheduled events.
One of the busiest areas was the esports one, in which retro gaming consoles,
among other video games, were set up. UCAM's main League of
Legends team coach, Mario 'Motroco', and the influencers Maestro_Ciego
and Javi Olivares 'La botella de Kandor' attended, and tomorrow there will
be a 'Meet &Greet' with Paracetamor.
In addition to the scheduled activities, there were information stands, where
students were able to learn about the Volunteer Service, the Career
Guidance and Information Service and the Chaplaincy and Religious
Sciences department, as well as the University Dentistry, Podiatry
and Nutrition clinics and the UCAM Technological Institute.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the events will continue. The highlights of the day
will be the III University Mile, a popular race of just over 1.5 km in the
surroundings of the Campus de Los Jerónimos; and the UCAMPaella. Those
interested in participating must register in advance.
