The Universidad Católica de Murcia, through its UCAM HiTech innovation and entrepreneurship hub, belonging to the Network of High Technology Incubators of the Fundación Incyde, has been recognised by the Conference of Spanish University Rectors for its Best Practices in the development of university entrepreneurship. This distinction, awarded in the framework of the III CRUE Entrepreneurship Conference and the MetaRed X Spain Meeting, highlights the contribution of UCAM HiTech to the promotion of scientific entrepreneurship, technology transfer and open innovation.

The III CRUE Entrepreneurship Conference, held at the historic campus of Toledo, brought together universities, entrepreneurs and experts from the ecosystem to share and recognise best practices in university entrepreneurship. During the event, Carlos Caballero, UCAM HiTech Director, presented the initiatives of the University and the distinctive approach that has led UCAM HiTech to be distinguished as a benchmark in the field of scientific and university entrepreneurship.

The UCAM HiTech incubator has stood out for its comprehensive and collaborative approach to the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, creating the largest scientific entrepreneurship community in the country and connecting entrepreneurs, researchers and companies to foster innovation. Throughout this year, UCAM HiTech has developed more than 26 training programmes in three autonomous communities, impacting more than 500 students in key areas such as marketing, business models, artificial intelligence applied to companies and scientific content. Furthermore, to support science-based start-ups, a disruptive approach is being adopted by integrating the Venture Studio model as a complement to traditional incubation and acceleration programmes.

This recognition not only positions Universidad Católica de Murcia as a benchmark in university entrepreneurship, but also reinforces our commitment to technology transfer, open innovation and the development of projects with an impact on society. With initiatives such as UCAM HiTechies and the scientific entrepreneurship community, UCAM HiTech continues to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and consolidate its position as a key player in scientific entrepreneurship both regionally and nationally.
