Universidad Católica de Murcia has led this international research, endowed with almost 4 million euros by the European Union, to support decision-making for the recovery and maintenance of Mar Menor.
The yearly event of the European project called SMARTLAGOON, research H2020, headed by UCAM, which was celebrated today, has shared its results with regional, national and international scientists and with the Department for the Environment, Mar Menor, Universities and Research.
The SMARTLAGOON project has increased the data collection thanks to the installation of two new cameras, located in the Marchamalo and El Estacio canals.
Estrella Núñez, vice-rector of Research for the Universidad Católica, has participated in the visit of Diana Morant, Minister of Science and Innovation, to the Spanish Institute of Oceanography, where the Minister was shown the progress of the European project 'Smartlagoon' led by the Universidad Católica de Murcia.
This is an initiative of Smartlagoon, a European H2020 project led by UCAM, in which the Swiss company Photrack is a partner. Its researchers have analysed the Discharge APP with representatives of the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura and the General Directorate of the Mar Menor
