UCAM’s “300” students gear up for the next Erasmus placements
An informative session provided key guidance on management, deadlines and procedures for study periods at partner universities abroad starting in September
The 2026–27 mobility call, which closed in early January, included three programmes: Iberoamérica, which received 90 applications—“a record figure”; Overseas—with destinations in the United States, Canada and Asian countries—totalled 80; and Erasmus, the most in-demand, registered close to 360 applications.
In this context, Pablo Blesa, vice president for International Relations and Communication, highlighted the reach of this call and the role of students: “They are already UCAM’s ambassadors at our European partner universities.”
As for destination preferences, Italy once again ranks as the most requested country, followed by Poland, Portugal, Germany and France, which has sparked greater interest after expanding its English-taught course offer. Among northern European options, Finland has seen a notable surge in demand, especially among students in the Communication field, alongside applications to Sweden and agreements with Norway, which is included in the programme despite not belonging to the European Union.
Blesa also noted that the University is keeping registration open for other mobility and training opportunities, such as SICUE, the national exchange programme, and Erasmus Traineeships, in addition to the upcoming opening of summer courses in Ireland focused on language training, with options that also include formats aimed at an adult audience.
