Making girls familiar with scientific and technological degrees in order to awaken their vocation is one of the objectives of Talento STEM, association with which Universidad Católica de Murcia signed a collaboration agreement. Moreover, the institution also õrganises training activities in this field and promotes technological projects to help elderly and disabled people improve their quality of life.

The agreement was signed by María Dolores García, UCAM President, and Helena Flores, co-founder of Talento STEM together with María José Candel , who said that one of the first actions they will take together ‘will be to promote the initiative  Technovation Girls -A global technological undertaking programme for girls-. UCAM is currently working in this area within the European project She Chooses STEM, whose objective is to develop new communication methodologies and tools to get girls closer to scientific and technological degrees.’

This agreement will also allow Talento STEM initiatives to be transferred to the schools of the Fundación Alma Mater, ‘allowing the students of the educational centres to be the real protagonists, so that they get involved in the activities and experience technology and its uses.

The lecturers and students of UCAM Polytechnic School will participate as mentors in the process,’ said Rafael Melendreras, Vice-Dean of the UCAM Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication Technology Engineering.
