UCAM has enjoyed a close relationship of cooperation with various Chinese institutions for many years. With the aim of strengthening and expanding them, a large delegation from the institution travelled to the Asian country this week.

The first institutional meeting took place today, with the participation of Sun Jiye, vice-president of the province of Shandong, which has a population of 120 million inhabitants, accompanied by other members of his government, and the UCAM delegation, headed by its president, María Dolores García, accompanied by various representatives from the management and academic areas, such as José Luis Mendoza García, general director of Institutional Relations, Pablo Blesa, vice-rector of International Relations and Communication, and Antonio Caballero, general director of Universities of the Regional Government of Murcia.

At the meeting, held in Jinan, capital of the province, future lines of collaboration in the fields of training and research were discussed, especially in the field of agriculture, in which the Chinese province has an outstanding technological and productive development. In addition, various projects in the field of sports have been developed, both with the University itself and with its sports teams.

The University delegation will continue this week with an intense agenda of events with various Chinese institutions as part of its expansion efforts in the Asian country.

Close collaboration
Cooperation between the UCAM and Chinese institutions has been strengthened in recent years through agreements in sectors such as education, sports, technology and applied research. This international projection is also reflected in the growing number of students from the Asian country who choose the UCAM campuses to study in undergraduate, master's and doctoral programmes. Further proof of their intense collaboration is that just a few days ago UCAM created the first International Chair of Asian Studies in Spain, which works on peace-building, war conflict negotiation, violence management and resource and market administration.
