UCAM once again stands out in knowledge transfer and internationalisation
THE's World University Rankings 2026 reports this after evaluating 2,191 institutions in 115 countries.
UCAM is ones again recognised for its close relationship with the industry and the productive fabric, as has been shown in important national and international rankings. Now the World University Rankings 2026 of Times Higher Education, which places it as the third private university in Spain in knowledge transfer (Industry), also occupying the same position in the field of research. UCAM maintains its position in this ranking, placing itself in the +1201 rank worldwide, after selecting 2191 institutions from 115 countries, which have had their educational excellence measured. In this case, highlighting their commitment to teaching, research and internationalisation.
Since its onset, UCAM has worked on the development of top quality and translational research, which responds to the new challenges demanded by society, and which has an impact on the productive fabric in particular and on society in general in order to contribute to progress, social welfare and business competitiveness. This is reflected in this new edition of the WUR, in which it stands out for industry revenues and patents, ranking above the world average in different indicators. UCAM carries out numerous competitive research projects, both nationally and internationally, in areas such as engineering, social responsibility, health, sports, food, and educational quality. Through its research groups and chairs, it is active in applied science.
International pole of attraction
Another of the areas analysed by this THE ranking is internationalisation. In this case it ranked among the first 700 in the world, far exceeding the global average, which reflects the solid commitment of UCAM in this field, with 17.9% of international students (last year's figure, which this year rises to 20%).
This strong presence of international students demonstrates the institution's commitment to educational excellence and its global focus, and makes it a pole of international attraction, generating wealth and tourism for the Region of Murcia.
More than a thousand new foreign students joined UCAM last academic year, a figure that marked a historic milestone for the institution, and which will be higher this 2025-26 academic year. These students are studying undergraduate, master's and doctoral programmes. In addition, UCAM is the region's university and one of the first in Spain to offer the largest number of degrees in English, both undergraduate and postgraduate, a key factor in today's globalised world. These are the Bachelor's Degrees in Business Administration, Dentistry, Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, Psychology, Veterinary Medicine e International Relations, in addition to a wide range of postgraduate courses.
