UCAM joins forces with AGES to open a Spanish language school in Egypt
It will train Egyptian students, who will have the opportunity to carry out their higher education studies on the Murcia or Cartagena campuses
UCAM has taken a new step in its international expansion, in this case with the signing of an agreement with AGES (Alpha for Global Educational Services), an educational consultancy that offers training courses and scholarships to Egyptian students. Through this agreement, UCAM will open a Spanish language school in Alexandria and will offer the opportunity to continue with undergraduate studies on the Murcia or Cartagena campuses.
Ernesto García, director of international partners of UCAM's Strategic Alliances, assures that this step is key for the University because ‘we are going to establish a Spanish language school that will serve as a base for the internationalisation of UCAM in the Middle East. The aim is to train students in Spanish culture and language and to complete their preparation for further studies at our university’.
To define this alliance, Osama Mohamed, CEO of AGES, was at the Los Jerónimos Campus and was enthusiastic and optimistic about this new relationship between the two institutions: ‘We want to start the activity in two months so that all those Egyptian students who want to train in Spain can join this programme by, firstly, learning the language and culture of this country through the school that we are going to set up’.
Spanish School in Dubai since 2014
UCAM already has experience in Spanish language training abroad. The most obvious example is the UCAM Spanish Institute Dubai which opened its doors in 2014 and since then has become a reference, as it is also the only centre that is certified by the Cervantes Institute in the area.
