The General Council of Dentists of Spain has recognised Rupert H. G. Kelley, a British UCAM graduate, with the 'Alejandro López Quiroga Award' for his Undergraduate Dissertation entitled 'Protocol for facially guided digital orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning'.

This award, granted by the Spanish Dental Foundation (FDE), honours individuals and institutions that have stood out for their work in the improvement and promotion of Dentistry in Spain. The award ceremony was attended by numerous members of the Dental Association, representatives of scientific societies, political and health personalities, as well as the media.

Rupert Kelley expressed his satisfaction at receiving the recognition: ‘This award is a moment of great pride for me. It shows that hard work and sacrifice are always worthwhile if done with humility and passion. I will use it as motivation to continue providing excellent care to my patients. He also expressed his gratitude for ‘the support of all my teachers, especially Dr Raúl and Dr Álvaro Ferrando, and UCAM for providing an environment where students can achieve excellence.

The young dentist recalled his arrival at UCAM in 2019, highlighting the human and academic atmosphere of the campus: ‘When I first joined UCAM, I immediately felt at home. After five years, I can confidently say that I made the right decision.’
