The arrival of BIP participants has kicked off a week of high-level international academic activity at the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM). This program brings together students and faculty from Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania), the University of Limerick (Ireland), and UCAM, alongside specialist trainers from the Salesian Pontifical University (Rome) and the University of Jyväskylä (Finland). Organized by UCAM’s Department of Education, the week will feature contributions from prominent figures, including David Marsh, Director of the University's Chair of Bilingual Education.

Pablo Blesa, Vice-Rector of International Relations and Communication, emphasized the growing importance of these initiatives. He noted that "each year, the institution provides scholarships for over 100 students to participate in these programs and currently leads six BIP alliances". Ana Isabel García, Coordinator of the Master’s in Bilingual Education at the Faculty of Education, clarified that "participants reach this face-to-face phase after months of preliminary work using a shared academic methodology".

Throughout the week, sessions will delve into education, active methodologies in bilingual settings, and the impact of learning spaces. García highlighted that “the project aims to train future teachers through student-centered methodologies, fostering engagement, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving”.

The program features several key academic events:

  • Wednesday: A scientific seminar on innovative educational spaces, co-organized by the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Education.
  • Thursday & Friday: The Bilingual Education Conference, featuring a panel of international experts.
