UCAM continues to make progress in the incorporation of the most innovative technologies into its educational offer and its research projects. On this occasion, the Los Jerónimos Campus welcomed Synergy Tech, a company specialising in robotics, which presented two of its most advanced models: a humanoid robot and another quadruped

The robots toured the campus and surprised students and academic staff. At the same time, a meeting was held with vice-rectors and academic heads to explore possible collaborations with Synergy Tech, focused on incorporating these technologies into university education, facing both the technological challenge and the associated ethical challenges.

María Dolores García, UCAM President, subsequently held a meeting with Synergy Tech representatives to establish the basis of an alliance that will allow the institution to advance in this field.

In the words of Pau Guardiola, Director of the Creative Area and User Experience at UCAM, ‘these tools not only raise questions, but already offer concrete answers that can improve our society. The aim is for our students to live a unique experience, discovering how these technologies become useful solutions for humanity’.

Darío Samaniego, CEO of SynerTech, highlighted the progress that these devices represent: ‘Robotics and artificial intelligence are converging to facilitate complex tasks, such as accompanying the elderly or carrying out dangerous jobs. These tools are a perfect complement to improve the quality of life.’

Manuel Pardo, researcher of the UCAM Research Group in New Technologies Applied to Health, underlined the potential of this technology in extreme environments: ‘Humanoid robots can be a valuable aid in rescue operations in unhealthy areas, complementing the work of professionals and protecting human lives.’

With initiatives like this, UCAM reaffirms its commitment to technological innovation at the service of education, consolidating itself as an institution that prepares its students to lead the challenges of the future.
