UCAM expands to Malaga by acquiring the Escuela Superior de Estudios de Empresa (ESESA)
Following the recent inauguration of its Madrid Campus in conjunction with the Spanish Olympic Committee, UCAM has incorporated this Business School in Malaga, which will provide it with a prominent international perspective, offering cutting-edge specialised training to companies.
Located in the emblematic 'La Tabacalera' complex, UCAM-ESESA was created with the aim of becoming a strategic partner for companies and organisations that need talent with technological expertise and the ability to execute plans to scale up traditional businesses, professionalise family businesses and build solid international projects. To this end, it will work in close collaboration with entities such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Entrepreneurs and professional associations in Malaga.
Considered internationally as 'the university of sport', the main national and world rankings, such as QS and Times Higher Educations, highlight UCAM for its educational quality, applied research, cutting-edge technology and internationalisation. This academic 2025-26 year it has over 22,000 students, of which almost 6,000 are foreign students from 135 countries.
María Dolores García, UCAM president, stated that ‘UCAM-ESESA will be connected to our global network of alliances to add value to Malaga's productive fabric by offering executives and professionals cutting-edge tools to compete in an increasingly demanding and globalised market’.
UCAM, which has incorporated the professionals who made up the ESESA staff, will maintain the original essence of this entity, continuing to offer its current master's degrees in Marketing, Finance, Tax Consultancy, Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence. The advisory board will continue to be chaired by the City Council of Malaga, by the councillor for Innovation, Urban Digitalisation, Promotion of Technological and Business Investment and Investment attraction and delegate for Universities, Alicia Izquierdo.
At the same time, it is working on expanding its academic offering, with the aim of incorporating a new university degree, the Bachelor's Degree in Entrepreneurship (taught in English), and other cutting-edge, highly practical degrees, including tailor-made programmes for companies, in which analytics, cybersecurity, technology, social responsibility and leadership are at the service of decision-making.
Part of a period of solid growth following the recent opening of campuses in Madrid, in collaboration with the COE, and India, this addition is another step forward in UCAM's mission to serve society through excellence in education and the transfer of knowledge between universities and businesses.
