Aiming to address current economic issues, as well as the impact of geopolitical events on investor behavior, UCAM Endowment organized a new session at the Murcia campus of the Catholic University. Hundreds of students filled the Monastery of Los Jerónimos to learn about emerging investment scenarios from Clara Ortega, a member of BlackRock’s Iberia Sales team, who presented the lecture titled "BlackRock and the New Investment Landscape".

The event, attended by business owners and representatives from the University's Business Club, also featured Eugenio López, Director of UCAM Endowment, and José Luis Mendoza, UCAM Director of Institutional Relations. Both highlighted the importance of promoting financial literacy within society and fostering informed, responsible investment.

A Long-Term Vision for Strategic Growth

The UCAM Endowment is a capital reserve being built by the University with a long-term perspective. Its purpose is to ensure that, over time, the returns generated can be allocated to the institution's strategic projects, such as infrastructure, evangelization, student scholarships, support for athletes, and other initiatives that contribute to the development of the University and its community.

A fundamental part of this project is the UCAM University Fund (ISIN: ES0180819015), an actively managed international public equity fund. Since its inception, the fund has accumulated a revaluation of over 20%. Its strategy focuses on global diversification—both geographically and by sector—with a long-term vision. Furthermore, it incorporates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria in its asset selection, in line with the principles of the Social Doctrine of the Church.

The fund is available through the MyInvestor platform and allows for contributions starting from 10 euros. Through this vehicle, anyone can build solid and sustainable wealth while generating a positive impact through social, educational, and charitable initiatives promoted by the University.

The meeting underscored the growing public interest in the world of investment, driven by current economic uncertainty and a greater focus on personal and institutional wealth management. In this regard, Eugenio López emphasized "the need to educate people so they can invest with knowledge, prudence, and security".
