The academic internationalization of Universidad Católica de Murcia takes a major quantitative and logistical step forward with the start of the new academic year. UCAM's Higher Institute of Languages (ESI) has recorded a significant increase in international student enrollment for the 2026/27 academic year, leading to the launch of its Summer Program in Cartagena for the first time—an initiative previously held exclusively in Murcia.

Carolina Padilla, coordinator of Spanish language courses at ESI, highlighted that "this initiative has been warmly received by both students and teaching staff, responding to a growing demand at UCAM's Cartagena campus." The success of this joint edition consolidates the continuation of the Summer Program across both campuses for future years.

Coordinated by the Eduprojects department, the four-week program aims to provide intensive Spanish language training to incoming international students enrolled in official degrees taught in Spanish. This setup allows them to complete their language preparation directly at the campus where they will undertake their respective undergraduate or master's programs, enabling students to settle in and familiarize themselves with their new home from day one.
