María Dolores García, UCAM president, and Víctor Martínez, mayor of Santomera, have signed a collaboration agreement that will allow UCAM students to carry out internships at the Santomera town council. This is an excellent opportunity for university students to gain their first professional experience working in the public service.

The mayor of Santomera, Víctor Martínez, said that ‘we are fortunate to be able to reach an agreement with UCAM, a university from which highly qualified students at a national level graduate every year’. The mayor thanked the university for its commitment to the municipality and highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration with entities such as UCAM. He has also shown his commitment to continue promoting initiatives ‘that help to improve Santomera and to offer a better service to our citizens’.

For his part, Manuel Ruiz, vice-rector of Quality and Academic Planning emphasised that ‘we have a strong bond with the municipality of Santomera through its mayor and we are very happy that our students can do curricular and extracurricular internships here. We have already actively started to incorporate students of the Degree in Criminology in the Municipal Police. Along these lines, we are going to develop employability policies so that UCAM students can carry out administrative tasks in all the areas offered by this municipality’.
