QS World Ranking 2026 ranks UCAM among the best universities in the world

The world's most highly regarded university ranking has evaluated 8,467 higher education institutions, selecting only 1,501, including UCAM, which stands out for the internationalisation of its campuses, as well as its academic reputation and sustainability.

The Murcia and Cartagena campuses are international centres of attraction.

This organisation, which specialises in analysing and ranking higher education institutions around the world, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), has already awarded UCAM five stars in its Stars Rating and has now included it for the first time in its World University Rankings 2026, placing it in the 1021-1400 range among the 1501 universities selected from a total of 8,467 that it evaluated globally.

This is an institutional milestone, positioning UCAM among the best universities in the world and gaining international recognition for its excellence and the strength of its academic model.

Commitment to internationalisation

The QS World University Rankings, the most highly regarded in the world, particularly highlight UCAM's internationalisation, placing it among the top 500 worldwide for indicators such as Diversity of Foreign Students (425) and International Students (460). UCAM also ranks among the top Spanish universities in these areas, its foreign students place it in the top eight, demonstrating its global appeal with students from 127 different nationalities on its campuses. UCAM's position in the national top nine for international students, with 16.7% — double the global average of 8% — further supports this, as does its standing in the International Teaching Staff category.

In addition, the QS World University Ranking 2026 highly values UCAM, both globally and nationally, in terms of academic reputation and other aspects such as Sustainability, International Research Network and Employer Reputation.

Prior to this ranking, QS had already highlighted UCAM in its international rating, awarding it 5 Stars for the excellence of its educational model, inclusivity, online training and commitment to its students. It also included it in the first edition of its European ranking, published last year, in which it also recognised aspects such as student mobility.

UCAM is the university of the region and one of the first in Spain to offer the most programmes in English, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, a fundamental factor in today's globalised world. UCAM remains committed to internationalisation as a strategic priority, offering international students a unique academic and cultural experience in Spain.

These figures are in line with other international rankings, such as the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking, which ranks it as the 40th university in the world in Educational Quality, and national rankings, such as the CYD, published in early June, which highlights it in the field of Internationalisation and as the leading private university in Spain in terms of External Research Funding, as well as the highest-scoring university in the Region of Murcia in Contribution to Regional Development.
