Ona Carbonell joins the UCAM family
The double Olympic medallist in synchronised swimming gets ready for the Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020, supported by UCAM
Ona Carbonell joins the list of athletes that compose the big family of UCAM. She was born in Barcelona in 1990 and she started swimming at the age of 10, after giving a try to rhythmic gymnastics. Ever since then, finding a spot among the international elite of synchronised swimming with a silver and a bronze medal in the 2007 World Championship when she was only 17, Ona has become the world's most decorated swimmer in history and she has an unprecedented Olympic record: 23 medals in the seven world championships she took part in, 12 medals in the European championships and two Olympic medals - a silver and a bronze medal - in London 2012, plus the Rio 2016 Olympic diploma.
The athlete from Catalonia will try to obtain in her hometown the ticket to Tokyo 2020 at the synchronised swimming pre-Olympics, which will be held from June 10th to June 13th. She has just won a bronze medal in the team technical routine competition at the European Championship of Budapest, demonstrating the work and sacrifice with which she is planning to go to her third Olympics after two years without competing due to maternity leave.
A new phase awaits ahead of the Olympic swimmer and UCAM will accompany her towards her new goals and sports accomplishments.
Welcome, Ona!
