Mexican students start a leadership and entrepreneurship programme at UCAM
Students of the Irapuato Institute will receive practical training from leading executives and entrepreneurs.
These students have come to UCAM from Instituto Irapuato to take part in a training programme in leadership and entrepreneurship. They have studied a wide range of programmes in Mexico, including commerce, tourism, nutrition and architecture, and come from families involved in business or are already active entrepreneurs themselves. They will spend a month at the Los Jerónimos Campus receiving eminently practical training, with sessions given by executives and owners of leading companies, such as the CEO of Fripozo or the CEO of Embargos a lo Bestia, as well as institutional leaders from the financial sector, such as the Account Manager of Banco Santander.
These 19 students study at UCAM through an initiative that is now in its 13th year and is part of the close collaboration that UCAM maintains with Instituto Irapuato, located in the state of Guanajuato.
Pablo Blesa, UCAM Vice-Rector of International Relations and Communication, highlighted that ‘in these 13 years, more than 600 students from Instituto Irapuato have been trained in this programme, and 85% of them have relaunched their family businesses or created new initiatives, some of which have had an impact in Spain’.
The Vice-Rector emphasised that this training programme offers participants the unique opportunity to internationalise their CVs, gain in-depth knowledge of the business fabric of the Region of Murcia and establish networks of contacts with professionals in the economic field. He also highlighted the cultural context in which this stay takes place, coinciding with the town's festivities, ‘a particularly pleasant time to enjoy our city’.
