The Master's Degree in Military Law of UCAM starts its 4th edition
The 4th edition of the Master’s Degree in Military Law of UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, the only official master in military law in Spain, that this year will have thirty students, was presented at the ‘El Alcázar’ Military Residence in Madrid. The inaugural conference was held by the diplomat Manuel González Garagorri, adviser of Consular Emergency, of the Directorate-General of Spaniards Overseas and of Consular Affairs, which depends on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, who offered a keynote presentation on “The role of Spain in the 70th anniversary of NATO: new risks and threats”.
Juan Carlos de la Cerra, director of the degree, thanked the new students for their trust in the Master’s Degree, that in only four editions was able to train more than one hundred and fifty persons in a subject as specific as military law. De la Cerra stressed the commitment of UCAM with regard to high-quality training both for practising legal professionals and for the members of the armed forces.
“It is basically addressed to civilian lawyers who want to work as consultants for military commanders and it is ideal as well for people who are going to work as commanders and who are military professionals, since they are going to learn perfectly the jurisprudence and laws that they will have to use in their profession”, explained Pablo Blesa, vice-chancellor for International Relations and Communication of UCAM.
