López Miras: ‘The Region of Murcia is fortunate to have UCUM’
The President of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, officiated at the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Nursing of the Catholic University San Antonio
The Palacio de los Deportes de Murcia hosted the solemn graduation ceremony of the students of the UCAM Faculty of Nursing: 14th graduating class of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, the 9th graduating class of the Master's Degree in Occupational Nursing, the 11th graduating class of the Master's Degree in Emergency, Urgent and Special Care Nursing, the Master's Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention, the Master's Degree in Nursing and School Health, and the 13th graduating class of the Master's Degree in Geriatrics and Gerontology.
More than 350 students graduated in this emotional ceremony, presided over by María Dolores García, UCAM president, with the participation of Fernando López Miras, president of the Region of Murcia, who acted as patron of the ceremony. Also at the presidential table were Paloma Echevarría, dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and María José López, vice-dean of the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
During his speech, Fernando López Miras emphasised the importance of UCAM in the regional educational landscape and recalled the figure of José Luis Mendoza, founder of the institution:: ‘The Region of Murcia is fortunate to have UCAM. It is worth reiterating this by remembering José Luis Mendoza, who worked long and hard to make this university a reality’. He also praised the new professionals: ‘Nursing is a profound vocation. It is humanity. You represent the future of a better society.
For her part, María Dolores García highlighted the comprehensive training received by the graduates: ‘You are qualified to do your part. We have tried to convey more than just technical knowledge. We encourage you to grow in the best values: love, truth, hope, solidarity, effort and friendship.
The ceremony was marked by emotion and recognition of the efforts of the students, who are completing a key stage in their professional and personal training
