International education agents visit UCAM to learn about their academic programmes
UCAM and ENAE Business School welcomed around twenty representatives from countries such as Libya, Italy, Ukraine and Turkey to experience university life and share it with future students.
UCAM, in collaboration with ENAE Business School, has held a new Fam Trip with the participation of around twenty international agents from countries such as Libya, Italy, Ukraine, Turkey, Georgia and Chile. The aim of this initiative is to showcase the university experience UCAM offers in Murcia, Cartagena and Madrid so that these representatives can convey it accurately and in detail to potential students in their respective countries.
The meeting began yesterday in Madrid with a visit to the new Torrejón de Ardoz Campus and resumed this morning at the Temple of the Monastery of Los Jerónimos, where participants attended a welcome session in which they were introduced to the history of UCAM and the areas most relevant to foreign students. These include the International Admissions Unit, Student Care & Housing, the UCAM Language School, the International Relations Office, the Sports Service, UCAM Alumni and the User Experience Unit, whose director, Pau Guardiola, gave a demonstration on the use of the metaverse in university teaching.
‘We are proud to welcome a large group of representatives from agencies specialising in university counselling for students,’ said Pablo Blesa, UCAM Vice-Rector for International Relations and Communication. 'They believe that this university is a good place for those who dream of an international experience in Spanish or English, and our institution is presented as an outstanding option for these young people.
The agents toured the Murcia Campus during their stay, getting a first-hand look at the facilities, services and university environment. April Adap, Director of Marketing and International Admissions, highlighted the importance of these types of meetings: ‘We are very happy and grateful for this visit from agents who work closely with us. This activity grows every year, strengthening our ties with them and increasing the number of international students who come to our university.’
UCAM currently has 20% international students, many of whom are enrolled in degree programmes taught in both Spanish and English. The international academic programmes include International Relations, Business Administration, Dentistry, Psychology, Sport Sciences, as well as a wide range of Master's and Doctorate programmes in English.
Meanwhile, Minerva Rojas, Business and Development Manager at ENAE Business School, highlighted the usefulness of this type of visits: ‘This is wonderful because it allows them to experience the academic quality we offer first-hand, as well as the warmth of this region and its people. When they return to their countries, they will be able to talk about this experience with facts.’ She also stressed the positive impact that these experiences have on the personal and professional development of international students, while also promoting cooperation between cultures and countries.
This Fam Trip is part of the UCAM's internationalisation strategy, which in the coming months will intensify its presence at international fairs and educational events in different parts of the world. The aim is to continue consolidating our global position as a leading institution for international students seeking quality education in a welcoming and multicultural environment.
