The Dance Company of the UCAM has performed the pieces entitled ‘Fragmentos’ and ‘Mutable’
The Dance Company of the Catholic University of Murcia recently performed, in the Santo Domingo Square, its new project entitled ‘Fragmentos’, on the occasion of the World Breast Cancer Day. Furthermore, this week, the students of the Bachelor's Degree performed ‘Mutable’, a piece that the Company already premièred last June, at the Teatro Circo de Murcia.
‘Fragmentos’ is a contemporary dance piece, which was created by Tania Herrero, choreographer of the Girasoles Company. “She suffered from breast cancer two times and she wanted to tell her story with two female dancers of the Dance Company of the UCAM”, states María Dolores Molina, vice dean of the Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, who furthermore adds that it is a philanthropic piece, “where we had the intention to show all the processes that a woman who suffers from this disease goes through, by developing the story through dance and poetry”.
The same piece will be performed at the Congress of Arts and Diversity of the Region in November.
On the other hand, in the Culture Room of Cajamurcia, they performed ‘Mutable’, which is a portion of the version that premièred in June in which teachers and students of the Bachelor’s Degree participated. “On this occasion, due to the size of the stage, we adapted the piece and only the female students participated in it”, says María Dolores Molina.
