Artificial intelligence and female leadership, key topics at the ANAEDE - UCAM Conference
Leading figures from sport, business, politics and the media shared their success stories and challenges
The Asociación de Mujeres Profesionales, Directivas, Empresarias y Ejecutivas (Association of Professional, Managerial, Business and Executive Women) and the UCAM International Chair of Women, Business and Sport have held the ANAEDE-CIMED National Conference, under the slogan ‘The answer is in you.’ A space for reflection and learning around the role of women in business, sport and technology, which has brought together experts from various disciplines to promote female leadership and equal opportunities in all sectors.
María Dolores García, UCAM President, underlined the importance of this kind of meeting at the opening ceremony: ‘Universidad Católica de Murcia is fully committed to promoting equality in all areas. Our objective is to contribute to the development of female talent, providing spaces like this, in which we seek to give visibility, training and real opportunities to women.’
Meanwhile, María Dolores Bolarín, ANAEDE President, stressed that ‘this conference shows that collaboration and shared leadership between women and men is the key to building a more egalitarian and just society. At ANAEDE we are working so that more women have the necessary tools to lead and have an impact.’
The conference has hosted a series of presentations and round tables addressing everything from the impact of artificial intelligence on business leadership to the visibility of female athletes as role models for the new generations. María Jesús Bonilla, Director of the International Chair in Women, Business and Sport, stressed the importance of ‘promoting leadership and guaranteeing equal opportunities.’
Recognition of entrepreneurial effort
During the event, special recognition was given to Luis Miguel García de Andrés, founder of Luis Miguel Pastelerías and Nueva Cocina Mediterránea, for his outstanding business career and his commitment to the values defended by the Chair.
The conference concluded with the Business Panel Artificial Intelligence: Goals and Opportunities and the Sports Panel Not afraid to cross the finish line, led by female sports references, such as the Olympic walking champion, María Pérez, the captain of the Spanish Wheelchair Basketball Team, Sonia Ruiz, and Carmen Giménez, Paralympic athlete and president of Run For You.
