The Catholic University of Murcia had a meeting with Omar Khan, director of the dance magazine SusyQ and dance critic. The meeting, which was addressed to students of the UCAM Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, started with an approach to the origins of contemporary dance and to the rise of Tanztheater in Europe.

Omar Khan declared that, “despite what is generally said, dance is still the most recent art but, in Spain, audience is increasingly interested in this discipline”. Furthermore, the dance critic stated that “sensibility has a key role when it comes to approaching the dance world”, and media have an important responsibility with regards to the dissemination of this discipline.

On behalf of the University, María Dolores Molina, vice-chancellor of the Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, was present, and she explained that the university degree does not only train performers, “but professionals with a complete and high-quality training, ready to enter a field that offers many jobs opportunities”.
