UCAM supports its students’ employability through European projects

There is no rest at UCAM when it comes to training the students to enhance their employability. On the 22 of August, 8 students travelled to Timisoara, Romania, to take part in the European Project  “Conquer the Labour Market”, led by the OPRI (International Projects Office) and the ITM (Technologic Institute of Murcia) of the Catholic University, co-financed by the European Union.

During a week, the Spanish students could participate in various activities, oriented towards the European labour market, and enjoy an intercultural exchange with 50 others students coming from 5 countries - Spain, Romania, Slovakia, Croatia and Italia -, to learn more about one another during different groups sessions. “It is a good opportunity for young people to know the labour market and also to create relations with other young people that live the same job situation than they do” declares Raquel González Pérez, project manager of ITM, who accompanied UCAM’s scholars in Romania.

Thanks to various workshops, the participants could work on key elements to face the labour market. The main objectives of the week were enhancing the leadership, the creativity and the skills of the participants in order to realize a map of presentation or to conduct a successful interview. Furthermore, the cultural exchange between Europeans countries enables the students to be more open-minded, an important skill to enter an international labour market. The entrepreneurship was not forgotten; the participants had the opportunity to work on Business Plans and also to share experiences with young entrepreneurs that came to explain the obstacles and successes they faced on their way.

Through the various European projects in which UCAM involves its students, the Institution makes clear its intention to support youth employment, increasingly training its scholars.
