The event was attended by more than 1,200 people, including teachers and heads of schools, vocational training and special education centres, Catholic universities, and promoters of voluntary, leisure and free-time activities.

UCAM’s delegation included the chaplains of its campuses from Murcia and Cartagena, Luis Emilio Pascual and Antonio Palazón; María Dolores Mendoza, coordinator of the Alma Mater Foundation of Catholic Schools; María Mendoza, member of the San Antonio University Foundation, as well as professors of religious sciences and arts.

The chaplain, Luis Emilio Pascual, emphasised that ‘the value of participating in this ecclesiastical event from the beginning, and especially the reflection of this final day; the conclusions and challenges that each sector has highlighted in their final contributions will be very useful for improving our contribution as a Church to Spanish Education’.

During the event, twenty speakers have illustrated the work of reflection in the nine sectors into which the activity has been subdivided and which began last October.

Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, prefect of the Dicastery for Culture and Education, gave a lecture, as did cardinal Juan José Omella, president of the Episcopal Conference and archbishop of Barcelona, cardinal José Cobo, archbishop of Madrid, and more than ten other bishops.
