UCAM presents its team 'eSports': Arkangels

Entrepreneurs at UCAM have an opportunity to approach new technologies, thanks to the implementation of the 'eSports' project that is supported by the Faculty of Sport and Training Gamers - a 'startup' of the Technological Institute of Murcia (ITM) UCAM.
The event which took place yesterday morning was the official presentation of the new team 'eSports' UCAM, called Arkangels. It’s headquartered on the main UCAM campus at Los Jeronimos. Antonio Sánchez Pato, dean of the Faculty of Sport, stressed that "this initiative makes us sensitive to these sports practices, requiring attention from the standpoint of research and physical preparation". Meanwhile, Tao Martinez, professor of Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport (CAFD) and project manager, said that "not only about entertainment, it is also about training, research and innovation". He also shared a message with the students and university: "The project is open to everyone who wants to participate."
They have also summoned several students who will test the computer equipment. These early 'gamers' form part of the preselection for the college team. Today is digital entertainment day at the 'UCAM Smart Campus 2016'. In addition, 'eSports' will be held at 12:30 pm, with the presentation of the professional ‘gamer’ Antonio Rivas 'Flipin' at the Assembly Hall. Also, Sergi Mesonero, Director of Strategy, will host the Video of the Professional League (10:00am); Carlos Lopez, will discuss the latest advances in virtual reality (11:30am).
