UCAM Murcia CF triumphs sealing their ticket to Segunda A

It is indeed a historic win for the Catholic University of Murcia Football Club. The do or die game that gives the team a ticket to play in the next season, the National League Championship Second A Division after beating Real Madrid Castilla in a hard-fought and thrilling playoff, which finished 2-1 in the first leg and 2-2 in the second leg played at the Alfredo di Stefano stadium.

UCAM Murcia CF have produced football of an extremely high calibre this year and the goalscorers Ivan Aguilar and Pablo Pallares and the utility player Juan Gongora made fundamental contributions towards the side finishing top of Group 4.


Following 41 official games this season, the manager, Jose Maria Salmeron, and his players are now celebrating the joys of promotion, a monumental achievement for a club which has only existed for 17 years, following its creation in 1999.
