UCAM implements virtual strategies to ensure training
It will continue teaching all its students via online until the end of the academic year, evaluating the external internships and carrying out the final exams
The University has been working for years on a process of digital transformation that has made it possible, in the face of the current health crisis, for all teachers and Administration and Services personnel to carry out their teaching and professional activities online and to switch to this modality 15,000 students, who have joined the 4,000 students who were already undertaking online studies.
From Monday 16 March, classes are given normally in this modality. The Vice-Chancellorship for On-line Teaching has been monitoring the sessions, recording more than 530 per day. Two weeks after the confinement began, UCAM's teaching plan continued as planned, offering a total of 9,187 hours of online classes. Last Monday, 23 March, the period of midterm exams began, with an average of more than 30 daily exams.
Undergraduate Dissertations and Master’s Theses
UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, after consulting the academic authorities, is working on contingency plans for the completion of Undergraduate Dissertations and Master’s Theses that, due to their characteristics, required attendance or public defence before a court. Likewise, it is adapting the evaluation systems according to the correct development of virtual teaching, so that teachers can identify the best way to evaluate their students.
Internships and doctoral theses
UCAM is developing new virtual strategies so that its students can complement their pending internships. To this end, the Vice-Chancellorship of Quality and Academic Organisation and that of Virtual Teaching are preparing different activities and materials online for the resolution of case studies, workshops, works and virtual simulation. The International Doctoral School of UCAM confirms that it will carry out the defence of theses with a strategy through the Virtual Campus that has been validated.
