UCAM to host the International Conference on School Nursing

The event will be held in 2027, following this week's announcement at the closing ceremony of the global symposium, which took place in Japan this year.

The Region of Murcia is getting ready to celebrate. UCAM will host the 23rd International Conference of School Nurses International (SNI) scheduled for 2027.

The corporation formed by the Asociación Científica Española de Enfermería y Salud Escolar (Spanish Scientific Association of Nursing and School Health, ACEESE), the International Association of School Nurses & Health Promotion (ISNA) and the Asociación Catalana de Enfermería Escolar (Catalan Association of School Nursing, ACISE) presented this candidacy during the International Symposium on this field, held this week in Gotemba (Japan). To secure the hosting rights, the scientific, academic and organisational strengths of both the city of Murcia and UCAM were assessed, recognising their track record and commitment to health and education worldwide.

According to information provided by the event organisers, the proposal is also strongly supported by the General Council of Nursing, from the Professional Association of Nursing of the Region of Murcia and the Oficina de Congresos y Turismo de Murcia (Murcia Convention Bureau).

For Daniel Guillén, lecturer at the UCAM Faculty of Nursing and director of the Master's Degree in Nursing and School Health, who participated in the symposium held in Japan, ‘UCAM hosting this conference will place the Region of Murcia at the global hub of school nursing in 2027’.
