The development of practical skills is key in the training of future professionals. This is why UCAM provides its students with a teaching methodology and state-of-the-art facilities equipped with the latest generation equipment. These internships are complemented by external and extracurricular internships, thanks to agreements with many companies and institutions. UCAM has a 100% industrial Food Processing Pilot Plant on its Murcia Campus, where students of the degrees in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science and Technology, Biotechnology and Gastronomy, and postgraduate courses in the area are trained. It is complemented by other facilities such as the GastroLab, the laboratories, and the UCAM HiTech.

Food industry and catering

The UCAM Degree in Gastronomy aims to train qualified professionals to design, implement and coordinate food preparation and production systems, as well as high-level culinary services related to catering or any other business in the food sector. That is why its students are trained using a multidisciplinary approachnot only in cooking techniques, but also in nutrition, marketing, human resources management, economics and food industry processes, thus opening up a wide range of career opportunities.

University Clinic

Several autonomous communities have already included the nutritionist as an additional health professional in Primary Care. The UCAM Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics is a pioneer in the Region of Murcia, and its students are trained in health and nutritional aspects, as well as in the composition and preparation of food. For this purpose, the institution provides modern laboratories with high-tech equipment and its UCAM Nutrition Clinic, in which they carry out practical work with patients under the supervision of the teaching staff, getting very close to the day-to-day of a nutritionist.

Healthy, sustainable and personalised

There is a growing interest in healthy, sustainable and personalised food, and the UCAM trained professional in Food Science and Technology  helps achieve these challenges. The student acquires the necessary training to know the nature of food, the causes of its deterioration, the fundamental principles of its processing and its improvement for its consumption, having a wide range of job opportunities within their reach. This degree is taught in blended learning mode, which allows students to combine their studies with their personal and working life, setting their own study guidelines.
