UCAM creates International Master’s in Tourism with Uptc from Colombia

This cooperation between the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia (UPTC) and the Catholic University of Murcia is the result of an agreement for the creation of a Virtual Master’s in Innovation and Tourism Marketing, which includes a program of internships for the students

UCAM creates International Master’s in Tourism with Uptc from Colombia
This cooperation is the result of an agreement for the creation of a virtual master’s of two years, which has one practical part and an internship part for the students at UCAM

The public university Uptc, with more than 28 thousand graduated students and 65 years of activity, has presented to the National Ministry of Education of Colombia together with UCAM, the International Master’s in Innovation and Tourism Marketing. In this degree, the student will be able to achieve also the Master’s in Innovation and Tourism Marketing UCAM title, which means that they achieve a double degree. This cooperation is the result of an agreement for the creation of a virtual master’s with the duration of two years, with one practical part and an internship part for the students at UCAM.


“This strategic alliance between the two institutions is trying to potentiate the knowledge on innovation, technology and tourism marketing in Latin America, and this master’s will be a reference of education in this area”, declared Ginesa Martínez del Vas, vicedean of the Bachelor’s in Tourism at UCAM during her visit at Uptc.


Ginesa Martínez also gave a class on sustainable tourism in one of the specialization programs that the Colombian university imparts, as well as a conference to the entrepreneurial community of Duitama (Colombia). In the conference she talked about successful cases of sustainable tourism in Spain.


Regarding investigations, this collaboration between the Spanish and Colombian universities is also looking to form a base to be able to impulse the first international doctorates with the help from Geographical Institution Agustín Codazzi.
