This weekend, UCAM Cartagena Table Tennis achieved a historic victory by qualifying for the first time for the Final Four of the ETTU Champions League Women after beating French team TT Saint-Quentin at home.

The Cartagena team faced the second leg with everything against them after their defeat in the first leg. However, on Saturday at 5 pm, in a packed arena, the players led by Jesús Cantero staged a memorable comeback in front of their fans. The knockout started with Olympian Maria Xiao showing her authority against Linda Bergstro, dominating the first match. Subsequently, Tin-Tin Ho conceded her point to Camille Lutz, which levelled the score momentarily. With the pressure on, Fei QI gave the home side the lead back, leaving everything in the hands of Maria Xiao, who closed the match with authority to establish the definitive 3-1 and spark euphoria in Cartagena.

With this historic victory, UCAM Cartagena TM have qualified for the Final Four of the Champions League, which will be played on 23 and 24 May in Poland, where they will face French side Metz TT. The European dream is more alive than ever for a team that has already shown it can compete against adversity and that aspires, with ambition and enthusiasm, to win the title.
