UCAM Cartagena reaches the Europe Cup final

The university players will be looking for their fourth European title after a convincing victory over TTC Novi Sad

The team from Cartagena have beaten the Serbian team TTC Novi Sad 3-0, which means the dream of a treble is still very much alive, as they still have options to win the Iberdrola League and the Copa de la Reina-Iberdrola. UCAM Cartagena TM's opponent in the final for the title will be the French team ALCL TT Grand Quevilly. The final will be played over two matches in April, with the second one taking place in Cartagena.

In the first match Maria Xiao was extremely focused and defeated the Serbian number one, Aneta Makszuti, with a resounding 3-0.

Silvia Erdelyi had to make a comeback to win a complicated match against Tijana Jokic; in the end the player from Cartagena won 3-2.

Finally, Li Fen comfortably beat Reka Bezek 3-0 to assure UCAM Cartagena TM's place in the European final.

For the club's sporting director, Jesús Cantero, "Novi Sad was a worthy rival, but our girls performed at a high level. Now it's time to celebrate and tomorrow to prepare for the return match of the League Play Offs and the Copa de la Reina, which will be played in a week and a half in Santander". Finally, he wanted to thank the almost one hundred fans who came to the Cuatro Santos Sports Hall: "Having such fans means it is almost impossible to lose".
