UCAM and the General Council of Social Graduates of Spain present the International Chair in Labour Law in Madrid

The session featured presentations by Supreme Court judges and a briefing on the UCAM Bachelor's Degree in Labour Relations and Human Resources and UCAM Master's Degree in Legal and Labour Consultancy.

The headquarters of the General Council of Social Graduates of Spain, located in Madrid, hosted an academic conference organised jointly with UCAM focusing on labour law and Social Security.

The event was attended by Joaquín Merchán, President of the General Council of Social Graduates, Josefina García, UCAM Rector, and Alfonso Hernández Quereda, Secretary General of the Council, who presented the UCAM Bachelor's Degree in Labour Relations and Human Resources and the UCAM Master's Degree in Legal and Labour Consultancy, as well as its International Chair in Labour Law and Social Security, directed by Joaquín Merchán. The event was also attended by Manuel Carlos Ruiz, UCAM Vice-Rector of Quality and Academic Planning, as well as representatives of the Chair. 

The conference programme included two keynote speeches by members of the Supreme Court. Ana María Orellana Cano, magistrate of Chamber IV and co-director of the Chair, gave a presentation entitled ‘The impact of Organic Law 1/2025 on social jurisdiction: organic, procedural and substantive aspects’. Meanwhile, Ángel Blasco Pellicer, also a judge of the Fourth Chamber of the High Court, spoke on ‘The reform of the appeal for unification of doctrine in labour proceedings’.
