UCAM and the FFRM strengthen ties to improve the training and performance of footballers
The agreement includes discounts on studies and research projects to prevent injuries and optimise the physical preparation of players.
Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM) and the Federación de Fútbol de la Región de Murcia (FFRM, Football Federation of the Region of Murcia) have signed a collaboration agreement at the Los Jerónimos Campus. This agreement, signed by María Dolores García, UCAM President, and José Miguel Monje, FFRM President, aims to promote the academic training of federated players and to collaborate in the sporting field through research projects.
As part of the agreement, federated members will benefit from advantages, thus facilitating their access to quality training. Furthermore, a collaboration is established with the UCAM Research Centre for High Performance Sport (UCAM CIARD), to carry out the performance assessment and monitoring of the athletes selected by the FFRM.
José Miguel Monje, FFRM president, welcomed the partnership: ‘This agreement is a great step forward for the members of the federation, who will be able to benefit from first class academic training, which is crucial for their personal and professional development.’
For his part, Pablo Rosique, UCAM Sports Director, underlined the importance of this agreement to promote greater integration between academic training and high-performance sport: ‘UCAM keeps supporting sport, offering facilities to athletes so that they can combine their academic and sporting careers.’
In addition, Pedro Emilio Alcaraz, UCAM CIARD Director, outlined the technical aspects of the agreement, which include the use of advanced tools such as artificial intelligence for the prevention of injuries in athletes: ‘We will conduct detailed assessments and monitoring of athletes, which will help optimise their performance and prevent serious injuries, thus improving their professional careers.’
This agreement reinforces the commitment between UCAM and the FFRM to sport and education, providing young footballers from Murcia with a solid platform for their comprehensive development.
