UCAM’s Sphera Publica journal joins Latindex Catalogue 2.0
The journal of the Faculty of Communication of the UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia has become part of the new version of the Latindex portal, a directory of academic publications of recognised prestige among the Spanish-language international scientific community

The scientific journal Sphera Publica, which has been published since 2000 by the Communication Sciences Department of UCAM, has been integrated into the new Latindex Catalogue 2.0, the greatest international repository of Spanish-language scientific publications.
Sphera Publica already received recognition for its work after joining the Plataforma Latina de Revistas de Comunicación (PlatCom) in 2016. Since then, it has consolidated its work in disseminating research works in the area of Communication Sciences. In addition, the journal provides quality scientific publications with theoretical and even empirical approaches, which reflect current issues in the scientific field, as well as other relevant paradigmatic case studies in the academic world.
Now, three years after that recognition, the journal has also managed to join the Latindex Catalogue 2.0 and become a national and international reference. Thus, the quality of recent years is guaranteed and the journal continues to take steps for its development and consolidation.
According to the journal’s editorial coordinator, teacher José Manuel Noguera, “joining the Catalogue 2.0 is a humble but important step, since having a consolidated scientific journal is important for the Faculty, for our researchers and for the university in general”.
Its management team includes doctors Pablo Blesa, director of the journal and dean of the Faculty of Communication; María del Mar Rodríguez, deputy director of the journal and teacher of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication, and Beatriz Correyero, advisor and vice-dean of the Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.
Since 2013, it has been publishing two issues a year, in July and December, in online format: sphera.ucam.edu
