Thousands of Students Enjoy the University Welcome

For two days, they got to know the services offered by the institution and enjoyed a range of activities, including the III University Mile and the UCAMPaella

Nearly 400 members of the UCAM community took part in the III University

Mile
, which was part of the University Welcome 2022. The welcome began

yesterday at the Los Jerónimos Campus, and will move to the Cartagena

Campus tomorrow, Thursday. The Olympic Karate champion, Sandra

Sánchez
, was in charge of starting the race and presenting the prizes to the

winners. She also held a meeting with students, who asked her about

psychological aspects, nutrition, planning and training "and about the

preparation for the Olympic Games; the part that is not covered by the

cameras", bearing in mind "that we have gone through particularly complicated

times due to the pandemic", while highlighting "the very positive atmosphere"

that she encountered during her attendance to the different scheduled

activities.

During these two days, thousands of students have visited the information

stands set up in the Plaza de San Antonio of the UCAM, getting to know all the

services first hand. These included VolunteeringCareer Guidance and

Information
Chaplaincy and  Religious SciencesSports Activities, the

UCAM Sports Center, the Research Centre for High Performance Sport,

the School of Languages (ESI)–which offered workshops in Korean and

Hebrew–the University DentistryPodiatry and Nutrition Clinics,

the Technological Institute of the UCAM and the university radio station

iRadio
. In addition, information on mobility programmes was also provided.

One of the most popular areas was the esports one, in which retro gaming

consoles were set up, and where the influencer Paracetamor took part in a

Meet & Greet this morning. The events ended with a large paella, which was

enjoyed by more than 700 students.
