The Research Group in Molecular Recognition and Encapsulation (REM) of UCAM has carried out a research to analyse the ability of micro-algae to absorb nitrates, phosphates and other pollutants of agricultural or urban origin. The results of this project may be applicable to the current situation of the Mar Menor and they could be proposed as one of the measures to be applied to improve the condition of the lagoon.
