Sports and medicine are two areas in which Universidad Católica San Antonio (UCAM) has invested heavily since its inception, both in the academic field and in applied research.

Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM) has officially entered the global elite in two of its flagship academic pillars: Sports-Related Subjects and Medicine, according to the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026.

The ranking, which evaluated over 5,200 institutions worldwide, highlights UCAM’s emergence as a global powerhouse. Notably, UCAM is one of only six private Spanish universities to secure a spot in the Global Top 100 for a specific field of study.

World-Class Excellence in Sports

Ranking in the 51-100 bracket globally for Sports-Related Subjects, UCAM confirms its status within the international elite. Through its Faculty of Sport and the UCAM Spanish Sports University, the institution offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in both Spanish and English.

The QS methodology—which measures academic reputation, employer reputation, and research impact—specifically lauded UCAM for Scientific Research Quality: High productivity and impact in sports science and Academic Model: Excellence in faculty expertise and professional integration.

For the first time, UCAM has entered the global rankings for Medicine, placing in the 701-850 range. This achievement underscores the university’s growing competitiveness against long-established medical faculties worldwide.

Beyond clinical excellence, UCAM’s commitment to social impact was recently mirrored in the QS Sustainability Rankings, where it holds the 455th position globally for Health and Wellbeing. This dual focus ensures that UCAM graduates are not just technically proficient, but socially conscious leaders.

UCAM’s success is driven by a unique synergy between classroom learning and applied research. The university’s ecosystem includes UCAM HiTech: A high-tech incubator specializing in health, sport, and food science and  High Performance Sports Research Center (CIARD): A facility dedicated to elite athletic optimization. This commitment to excellence is evidenced by an extensive catalog of medical and sports degrees, reinforced by specialized scientific hubs.
